so my mom is catholic but i was raised without much religion for reasons i won't get into, so i don't know much about catholicism outside of aesthetic posts on tumblr and the show midnight mass, so we passed the local catholic church yesterday (saturday) and my dad (jewish) was like wow they're empty, and my mom said they were preparing for 5pm mass and reconciliation, and i never heard the term "reconciliation" before and i just kinda asked "... with God?" which made my mom laugh and go "kinda!" and then explained that it's one of the terms for confession and i felt like an idiot lol
#- r#i've only heard it as confession from media okay! and i don't know much about it to begin with!#i was like okay who are they reconciling with? with God? and i wasn't wrong per se but apparently the priest is a part of it too#but yeah i haven't gone to church since i was 2 and im a hellenic polytheist now#but when i visit churches for historical reasons i always light a candle#because i remember how much i loved the candles as a kid and i want to pay my respects even if it's not my religion#mainly for my family members who have passed and were catholic (my grandparents and great grandmother specifically)

another typical story | part 17 - tell him.
MASTERLIST
pairing: idol!hwang hyunjin x influencer!reader, idol!lee felix x best friend!reader.
genre: social media!AU, strangers-ish-to-lovers, fluff, slow burn, female reader.
warnings: some swearing, mention of drinking.
summary: unexpectedly, felix brings his childhood best friend into his members' life. hyunjin is quick to take a liking for this new person.
"Are you okay?" Hyunjin laughed as he watched your excited self hopping on your seat.
"More than okay!" you squealed. "You're inviting me to fucking Japan, man!"
"I was convinced you already went there."
You shook your head. "I pretty much spent every penny I had to move to Korea and working for myself makes my salary pretty unstable. I never really travelled other than that."
He gave you a small smile before looking out the window. The plane was about to land and you couldn't wait to visit like a typical tourist. However, since you were tagging along with the boys, you'd have to wait a bit before doing so. Their arrival was going to be eventful because of the fans who were waiting for them
"Hey, Y/N." Minho called out as he turned around to face you. "I have a muffin if you're hungry."
You furrowed your eyebrows at him, suspiciously. "Are you going to throw it in my face like last time?"
He sent you a smirk. "Wouldn't you like that?" Chan nudged his arm as a scolding, making him huff. "I'm joking, I won't."
You took the muffin and thanked him kindly. Hyunjin, who had just watched the interaction, sent a glare to his older friend. The latter ignored him and went back to gathering his things to get ready to get out of the plane. Hyunjin observed you eat happily, and for some reason, it formed a knot in his stomach. Was he gone that bad that he was jealous of his friend being kind to you? He snapped out of his thoughts when Seungmin tapped on his shoulder to signal to him that they could get out of the plane. He followed along his friends, keeping a close eye on you.
After the whole process of getting your bags, you were walking out of the airport along with the staff to get in the van waiting for you outside. Surprisingly, the crowd wasn't as overwhelming as you expected it to be. The fans were being respectful enough to leave you space and only cheer from afar. That was good.
When you finally arrived at the hotel, Felix was quick to take your hand and drag you along with him. Not questioning his actions, you followed until he stopped right in front of his room.
From afar, Hyunjin was observing again. The knot in his stomach got tighter somehow and he certainly did not like it. Chan, noticing how his friend kept glaring unintentionally at Felix, poked his side before gesturing the way to his room. Hyunjin gave a last look on your way, but you had disappeared. His shoulders dropping, he headed towards his room.
"So." Felix exhaled once he was sure he had closed the door properly. "How is it going with him? Did you tell him?"
You facepalmed at his question. "Really? We just landed and you want to talk about this now?" He shrugged his shoulders, not seeing a problem with his curiosity. "Lix, I told you it's not going to happen."
"Alright. What about the squealing and the laughing? I've never heard your voice go so high, it was almost painful."
"If you're going to be like this, I'm leaving." you huffed as you stood up, but Felix was quick to grab your shoulders and put you right back where you were. "Felix!" you whined.
"Here is a perfect opportunity to confess your feelings."
"No."
He grunted at your stubbornness. "You're in Japan, it's romantic! Go take a walk with him, go on a date... I don't know but do something about it."
"Fuck you."
"Y/N, I'm being serious." he deadpanned, and you sighed in defeat.
"Fine. You have a schedule this afternoon, so how about I spend some time with him tomorrow?" you bluntly suggested.
Felix smiled widely. "That's good. Want me to buy flowers to help?"
You didn't even answer and left the place, him laughing as you walked out. As you turned to go towards your own room, you saw Hyunjin standing in the hallway, hands in his pocket while staring at the ground. It took him a few seconds to realize you were there, but once he did, his posture straightened and his eyes got wider. He smiled awkwardly as you walked closer to him.
"Hey." you spoke.
"Hey." he said back, scratching the back of his head. "So, um, you want to do something together tomorrow?"
Your eyes went big. "How much did you hear?"
He gave you a confused look. "What?"
Seeing that he didn't know what you were talking about, you shook your head. "Nothing. Yeah, we can hang out tomorrow."
He didn't look convinced, but he didn't ask any more question. Instead, he took your hand in his and walked with you to your room. You blushed at his gesture, looking away so he couldn't. But he saw and he melted at the sight.
"So... What were you doing in there with Felix?" Hyunjin said without thinking.
"Nothing." you replied quickly and his doubting reaction made you correct yourself. "Sorry, it sounded weird. Felix was just being Felix. Trying to convince me of telling someone something I don't want to talk about... The usual."
"Right..." he coughed. "Are you two trying out again, you know, being together?"
He gave a small squeeze on your hand as a sign of his nervousness. "What? No!" you denied right away. "I actually have eyes on someone else."
Good going, Y/N...
"Oh..?" he let go of your hand. "Do I know them?"
You really had only two options here. Either you lie, or you tell him the truth. Neither sounded good. Was there a third option? Not really.
"Maybe. I don't really want to talk about it." Thankfully, you had finally arrived in front of your door. "I probably should go unpack, now." you laughed shyly.
"Right. Is it okay if I come by your room tonight? You know, to plan out our day for tomorrow?"
"Of course." you smiled.
He waved you goodbye and walked away as you entered your room. Much to your surprise, Han was already sitting on the bed, browsing through the channels on the TV.
"Jisung? What the fuck are you doing here?" you almost yelled, startling the poor boy.
"We're roomies!" he simply answered.
"Weren't you rooming with Changbin?"
"Actually," he lifted a finger. "I am with Changbin. However, I need to help Hyunjin."
You gave him a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"Y/N baby..." he sighed loudly. "Is there a reason you told him you like somebody else?" You kept quiet and he smirked. "Listen, Hyunjin is one of my closest friends and I don't want anything but his happiness. But, for some reason, you're being stupid and keep pushing him away."
"Ji-"
"What are you so scared of?" His tone was softer, no longer mocking. Your silence was heavy as you sat down next to him. "Y/N?"
You played with the hem of your shirt, unsure whether you should tell him or not. You had been keeping it for yourself for a long time now, and it had buit up quite a bit. Maybe it was time you say it out loud.
"I don't want what happened with Felix to be repeating itself with him. We've only hurt each other and even as friends, I keep hurting him. Heck, I put him on hiatus."
"No, that was not your-"
"It was my fault, okay?" you raised your tone, making him shut. You regretted immediately. "Sorry."
"It's okay. Continue?" he said, putting his hand on your shoulder.
"It's not only that. I don't think I'm who Hyunjin really needs." you breathed out in all honesty. "He's all wow, and I'm barely doing anything with my life."
Han scoffed. "I really hope you are kidding right now. You are doing so much with your life, alright? Stop comparing yourself to those who surround you. Our success isn't what yours is supposed to be." You blinked a few times, taken aback from the wise words of your friend. He got off your bed and went to the door. "You do you, but I believe you two are worth a shot."
Ending with that, he left you alone in your room, more confused than you were to begin with.
The knock on your door was barely heard from you. Luckily, you were already standing close to the entrance, so you opened it to see Hyunjin, holding a bottle of sake to share. He looked tired with eyebags dropping on is cheeks. You let him in without saying a word and he sat down on one of the chairs, putting the alcohol on the coffee table.
"How was the performance?" you asked.
"You should have come." he replied while serving the drink in two glasses. "It was fine, but it could have been better."
"Sorry, I would have come if it wasn't for work." you apologized, taking one of the glasses. "For tomorrow, did you have anything in mind?"
He took the shot whole, winced at the taste, before answering you. "I saw some clothing stores downtown and I need new clothes."
"Shopping? Sounds fun." you said, and it was your turn to drink.
"You could go with Han instead."
His words made you look at him. He was staring at the bottom of his empty glass with sadness across his face.
"Why would I want to go with him?"
He huffed as he served himself more of the liquor. "I saw him get out of your room earlier. I suppose he's that someone you like?"
You stared at him in disbelief. While you were well aware the feelings you had for him were mutual, you could just not believe he was still assuming you were interested in someone else. He had done this a few times in the last few months you've been friends, and it still amazed you how smart, yet clueless, he was.
"You do know that I like you, right?"
He let out another huff, clearly in denial. "Sure, let's say you like me."
"Are you that dumb?" you stood up to take a step closer to him. "I wanted to make a dance video with you so I could spent time with you. I texted you daily because I was genuinely curious about how your days were going. I've talked about you with Felix a thousand of times because I just wanted to learn more about you. I couldn't stand the fact you saw me barefaced cause I wanted you to see me at my best. I gave your number to my friend because I thought she was a better fit for you than I am." you let out in frustration. "And I've been flirting with you for weeks, now. How can you even think I am interested in someone else other than you?"
Hyunjin gulped. It was a lot to take in from him. Honestly, he did have an idea about you liking him. However, he didn't want to admit it because he didn't feel like someone worth your while. He was insecure, scared, and kept comparing himself to Felix, who was great at everything. Seemingly, he's had the same thoughts as yours.
"I knew you like me. I simply thought you would be better off with someone, well, better. Either Felix or Jisung." he admitted. "I tried to forget about you because the feelings scared me, but they kept growing. And I hate how the simple sight of you makes me go crazy."
"Hyunjin, stop." you whispered. "It's the sake talking, now."
"Bullshit, Y/N. I barely drank anything." he huffed again. "Felix has been bugging me to talk to you, but truth is, I'm fucking scared. I don't want my career to be hurting you like it has happened with Felix, and I don't want to be making mistakes and breaking off what we had formed over the past months."
"Hyunjin, I said stop." you said firmly, but he stood up only to hover you. You felt small. "Someone told me today that they only want your happiness, and I want that too. Do you think that, whatever we want to start, can make you happy?"
Slowly, he nodded. "You're confusing me, and I hate it."
You laughed and he chuckled back. Carefully, he placed his hands on the sides of your cheeks and brought your face closer to his. Your breath became uneven at the sight of him. He was looking even better up close, and it literally took your breath away. He scanned your face, from your eyes to your lips, and stroke softly your cheek with his thumb.
"I really want to kiss you."
He didn't need you to speak to confirm you wanted him as much as he wanted you. The long exhale you let out was enough for him to bring his lips onto yours, pulling into a long overdue kiss. His plump lips felt soft with a tint of roughness. He was slow, but you could feel the eagerness. Tender, overwhelming and comfortable... that was exactly how his kiss was, and how you felt with him. It had been you don't know how long, but you separated from him in order to breathe, much to your disappointment. When your eyes opened, you saw a single tear coming down his cheek.
"Hey, what is it?" you asked, concerned.
"I think that is the sake talking." he joked. "I don't know, it feels like I should have done that sooner."
"Better late than never"
He smiled widely, and brought you closer again to press another kiss on your lips. How was he going to do now that he knew you were so addictive? He'll worry about it later. For now, he couldn't express how peaceful he was with you.

5 Songs - QL Show Edition
Tagged by @thatgirl4815 - thank you for tagging me!
When you get this, list 5 songs from the Asian QL media that you actually listen to.
🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series.
🎶Non-western tracks only. Let’s support Asian music and languages!
🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating.
🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
So I challenged myself to only put one song per artist/show here, elsewise over half of the answers would be the same artist, lol.
Anyway, without further blathering, my list:
Over the Moon (Eclipse OST) - hands down one of my favorite songs ever, not just from QL. I love everything about it, and it's one of the few songs I never skip, even if I'm not really in the mood. It has the ability to take me right back to watching The Eclipse for the first time, and how much I loved that damn show (and Akk, favorite character in just about anything ever). It just puts a sort of wistfulness in my chest and then just makes me want yet another rewatch. Also I just love Khaotung's voice. I said it. I don't think I've heard an OST he's done and not loved it.
youtube
It's Always You (Between Us OST) - Pretty much same as the above, really. I know that this show wasn't for everyone but it caught me and caught me hard, and this song will take me right back to that feeling every time. Just hearing the intro makes me a little misty, lol.
youtube
Follow (My Beautiful Man OST) - It was really a tossup between this one and "Bitter" from S2, but this is the OG and I was obsessed for a long long time so it nudged it out. I just love it - it's Kiyoi Sou, right there in a song - all arrogance and confusion and desperate need to be adored. Impeccable.
youtube
Sunshower (Eternal Yesterday) - Yet again, a song that just flings me right back into the place where I was watching this show that I knew was going to break me and yet unable to stop because it was just that good. I adore this song - it's wistful but hopeful at the same time, and despite how much that show broke me I can't listen to this without smiling (now, that is). Also just have to plug the show for a sec - it's so good, great chemistry and amazing performances and has the best confession scene I've personally watched yet. Third episode is perfection and honestly I can't recommend it enough if you can handle it. I love it so much (might actually be time for a rewatch).
youtube
Closer (Cupid's Last Wish OST) - Have I ever gone on here about how much I love this show? Because I do. It's so much fun, and this song perfectly encapsulates that. Every time I hear the song I get a little happy inside, and it's also really great to put on while driving. It's a song made for montages, lol. And it's got all the charm of the show - no seriously, CLW is super charming, I can't believe I almost didn't bother with it because I was afraid it would do the "I love you, not your body" thing (fine in theory, not my favorite thing when it comes to queer media specifically). Now it's one of my comfort shows. Rewatch it all the time when I need to smile. Mix's and Earth's voices complement each other really well, too.
youtube
Honorable Mentions: Let's Try (I can't with that high note okay I just sat there gaping at my PC the first time I heard it), I'm Not Boring You're Just Bored (introduced me to Tilly Birds, thank you Jojo (and trailers totally count hush)), Your World, My World, Strange Days, Go Sign, Bitter (as mentioned above), Kiyoi Sou's Theme (instrumental but it's so good),
Not tagging anyone because I don't know who has been, but if you are reading this and you haven't been tagged please consider this your invitation to play. But please tag me so that I can read the answers!

"no one's going to take you away from me, baby. i promise." not after this, not ever. he'd been patient and he'd kept his mouth shut against so much, but like hell was he ever going to let anyone or anything hurt billie again. she was his girl and if that meant that they had to go across country, that was fine with him. billie could stop using her last name and start using his, they could change their numbers and ditch social media. ezra didn't know how well billie would take to completely erasing the person she used to be, but they would find out soon enough.
he should have realized that before they could walk triumphantly into a new life, there would need to be time to lick their wounds. he might have been tired, but billie was hurting and ezra squeezed her hand harder at her confession. "hey, you're okay, it's okay," ezra said quickly, turning his head briefly towards her when he heard the hitch in her voice. "don't worry, i've got you. hold on." hitting his blinker, ezra turned into the first driveway he passed, a funeral home parking lot that was thankfully empty, but where no one would have given a sobbing woman a second look.
"okay, come here, i've got you," he promised before he even finished getting the car in park, quickly killing the engine and reaching for billie, making sure her seatbelt was out of the way so that she could be pulled into his arms. it must have all been hitting her at once, but that made sense. if he'd slowed down and stopped thinking about the future for a moment and started thinking about the present, maybe he would have pulled over and held billie the moment she woke up - that's what he should have done.
fingers combing through her hair and lips forming soothing noises, ezra felt a stab of resentment for her father and hoped that he wasn't holding her in a way that hurt. "listen, we're going to sit here until you feel better, okay? we're not in a rush, we can stay as long as you want, and then we'll find a motel or something to stay at for a bit. we'll order some food there and get cleaned up, then just take it easy for a while before we figure out our next move." it was only then that ezra realized how unprepared they really were. they hadn't packed bags, they didn't have a tooth brush, let alone a spare set of clothes, and he hadn't brought his laptop to help find a place they could actually stay, and sure he could use his phone, but he didn't even have his charger, fuck. fuck.
it wasn't the ideal way for them to start a new life, together. billie had dreamed of the day they could say goodbye. never had she imagined that she would have bruises on her face. she hated that he was seeing her look so pitiful. of course ezra had seen her in various states even before they had fallen into each other. she found herself nodding, knowing that she didn't need to say anything more about the state of her face.
"as long as we are together," she breathed, hating how overwhelmed she was feeling," nothing else matters." she knew that she was the reason it hadn't happened sooner. she had been so scared of what might happen if they did leave. even if she hated her father, she knew that he depended on her. she had no idea how long it would be before he lost the house, his car, everything.
those were thoughts she knew would haunt her. for once she wanted to just focus on the future. it had to be better than the past and she knew they might struggle. ezra had shown her more than once how he was willing to take care of her. what he had done by taking her away was another way that he had proven it. she sniffled as she tried to keep the tears back. it felt like she was fighting a losing battle.
her hand sought his out as he reached for hers," i-i don't want anyone to see me like this." they needed to eat and she knew that but she didn't want to be around anyone else. a sob bubbled up her throat and caused her to smack her hand over her mouth as if that would hold it in," i need-need you to hold me, please, please daddy." she didn't care if they were going to be sitting in a parking lot or if he took her to the motel. it was taking every single ounce of self control she had to not climb into his lap while he was driving.
#int; ezra and billie [ screamiingsiilence ]#thr; ezra#screamiingsiilence; billie 17#screamiingsiilence#v; for a chance to be with you i'd risk it all

anderperry fluff - it's been a while
(it's been a while since I made a drabble so here it is; I'm not dead, just burntout from work and social media hahah)
Todd's palms were sweating, trembling even. He hasn't seen his friend, Neil, recently and he's getting worried.
They were from two different colleges and it's possible Neil was just sick or busy or something-- That's why he hasn't seen him by the park fountain in a while.
Or... Was it because Todd blew it?
The month prior, Todd had confessed to Neil about his attraction. They've only known each other for less than a semester and already he felt like he could over come the crushing weight of the education system he's forced to participate in. But maybe it was a mistake.
What was Todd thinking?! Confessing to a guy he met randomly at a park and who's also a med student! He wouldn't have time to even date Todd-- let alone have the time to fall in love in the first place. Neil was a scholar, from some fancy school in Vermont while Todd barely got into his English Major because his parents were adamant about his decision (thank God for Jeff for saving him the effort).
Anyway, it wouldn't make sense to date Neil since they were in completely different courses and colleges... But Todd didn't have and excuse. He confessed to Neil, as sober and as aware and as dumb as he could be at that moment, he told Neil he liked him a lot.
After classes, Todd sat by the same fountain they liked to meet up at, ritually hoping for Neil to pop in and tell him he's sorry-- at least turn him down. Not seeing him hurt more than heartbreak, not being around him hurt more than not being with him. Todd could bear the image of Neil dating someone who'd be a future doctor too, but Todd couldn't bear not knowing how--
"Boo!"
Todd shrieked as he leaned backward into the fountain, falling into the shallow, penny-filled water.
"FUCK! Todd! I'm sorry-- I didn't mean to--" Neil hurried tried to fish Todd out of the water, rolling his sleeves up to grab Todd's arms.
"N-Neil? W-where've you been?" Todd was shivering, his teeth chattering from the cold water.
"I was supposed to surprise you-- well I did but-- I didn't mean to do it like this-"
Todd stood up, sopping wet and flustered. He tried his best not to smile at the site of Neil.
"What... What happened to you? How come I haven't heard from you in a while?"
"Okay... Uhm-- I hope you won't think I'm crazy or irrational for doing this, and I know by saying that I probably am already sounding like I am and--"
"Neil."
"Okay... I uhh... Transferred colleges. To be... here. With you. Uh.. Yeah."
Todd's face muscles fought hard to stop a smile from forming. "W-what? How? Why?!"
"Well... Y'know when you confessed? And all I did was kiss you and ran away?"
Todd remembered that clear as day. He just thought Neil gave him a pity kiss and ran as fast as he could. "Yeah...?"
"Well, I've been in love with you for months too and I was just hoping you'd reciprocate my feelings. I do admit, I handled your confession poorly, but it did lead me to transferring."
"B-but-- your career and--"
"No no! Don't worry! I've been wanting a reason to leave Medicine!" Neil chuckled. "I've been interested in another course-- conveniently also provided in this school, and I just needed one last push to tell my father off and go here. That and I had a rich friend help me out with a lot of the papers, that's why it only took a month. I wanted to surprise you while you were in the university itself but you looked so cute waiting for me here, I just had to come over."
"C-cute?" Todd's ears pinkened.
"Oh- right! I hope you understand this means I do want to date you, right? Is... Is this all too much?"
Todd's mind was swimming, not from being drenched in copper water but because he didn't expect Neil's approach to be so... sudden and completely the opposite from what he was worried about for the last weeks.
"Uhh... Todd?" Neil waved his hand in front of Todd's face.
"I-- This is a lot to take in--"
"I- I'm sorry- fuck, I knew this was too weird-"
"It's not! I just... Y'know what? How about I get myself cleaned up and then we grab some coffee?"
Neil sighed in relief. "Coffee sounds great."
"Good. And since we're dating, you can help be get cleaned up."
Todd held a blushing Neil's hand before they steadily walked to Todd's dorm.
The End
idk what the hell this was. I'm a bit rusty when it comes to writing fluff lmao

Blackpink Reaction To Their S/O Struggling W/ Drug Addiction
Warnings / Misc. -- ⚠️ Sensitive Topic ⚠️, Hurt/Comfort, Fluff
A/N: Hey everyone! This request covers a sensitive topic that I haven't been personally exposed to, but I hope that I do it justice. I did my best to handle it with care and be as realistic as possible. Let me know what you think!
PS -- I didn't specifically name any substances or describe them in too much detail; I wanted to leave you room to picture whatever you had in mind, especially if you happen to be struggling irl.
👩 Also, I wrote this as Fem!Reader because nothing was specified. I hope that's alright, anon! Thank you for your patience :)
♡ Happy Reading ♡
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Jisoo
Discovered it after a few weeks of dating
She's amazing at reading people, so she had sensed that you were struggling with something; she just didn't know what.
She wanted to wait for you to tell her about whatever it was, but one fateful day she witnessed something that explained it all.
It wasn't meant to happen; she wasn't meant to see you like this. But, as fate would have it, Jisoo stumbled across something she never saw coming.
Her footsteps grow louder as she walks her way through the house, peeking her head into various rooms in search of you. The two of you invited some of your mutual friends over, and they've all been curious as to where you slipped away to earlier.
"Baby, are you in here? Everyone's wonder--"
The sound of the latch clicking out of place makes your heart drop and sets you into motion. Before you have enough time to fully react, though, Jisoo opens the bathroom door to find you sitting on the ground, attempting to shove a foreign substance into a plastic baggy.
Your hands make quick work of moving it out of view and sitting up on your knees, but she picks up on what's going on. Her eyes land on the material as you shift it behind your body, looking up at her with wide eyes.
"Jisoo--" Tears are already beginning to work their way into your eyes, slightly blurring your vision. Too many people have walked out on you after witnessing this, and the thought that she might go too is overwhelming.
She keeps her tone level as she steps into the room and quietly shuts the door behind herself. "Y/N, please explain yourself."
"I-I'm sorry Jisoo, I should've told you sooner." You shakily say, bringing a hand up to swipe away the few tears that've already leaked out. It's not usually like you to get so emotional so quickly, but seeing the pained look on her face is reason enough.
"Come here," she utters, plopping down next to you and pulling you up against her body as she leans back on the side of the tub. Her fingers rub soothing circles on your back while you rest your head on her shoulder, lightly dampening the material of her shirt with your tears. "I'm not mad at you for this, but I need you to tell me about it. I want to help you, my love. I can't watch you hurt yourself like this."
"Okay. Just promise you won't go," you softly say, the syllables of your words breaking here and there from the raw emotion you feel.
"I'm not going anywhere, Y/N." She presses a light kiss to your temple for reassurance, and her heart breaks when she feels your hands grip at her clothes out of habit. How many times have people told you that and still left you in your time of need? She cradles you in her arms, realizing just how fragile you are in your current state, and tells you to take your time.
With a steadying breath, you begin to explain your struggles.
Road To Recovery
Constant check-ins
"Hey honey, we're at the studio now. Are you taking care of yourself for me?"
Helps you deal with the symptoms of withdrawal when they hit
Focuses on distraction and redirection as ways to help you cope
If you're at a party and feel tempted after seeing someone use, she leads you away to distract you from the urge
Helps you find safe alternatives
Celebrates the little victories
"Yes, Y/N, 4 and a half weeks clean is plenty reason to celebrate. Now mark it on the calendar and get over here so I can put this hat on you."
Playdates at your local dog café to keep your mind occupied (and bringing Dalgomie so he can make new friends, of course)
Takes you indoor skydiving. She wanted to find a way to give you an adrenaline rush while still being able to participate with you, so that was a happy medium. She battled her fear of heights to do that with you.
Not letting you lose hope if you relapse
"You're not a burden, and I'm not letting you give up on yourself. Not after all the progress you've made. I believe in you."
Accompanying you to rehab and recovery meetings, if you want her to
Bringing you your favorite snacks and candies when she picks you up
"I got you a little something," she smiles, leaning over the center console of the car to kiss your cheek. "You deserve a treat, baby."
Whenever you decide to tell everyone about your struggles and recovery journey, she's right next to you for support
Spends all the time she can with you
Early on, she would get really worried when you missed her calls or took a while to respond, but eventually she got over her fears to some degree
Still checks up on you when she's away for work
"Sorry for missing your call, Chu. Dalgom tried to kill me when I was giving him a bath and I couldn't get to the phone in time."
Overall, just a very proud girlfriend who sticks by you no matter what
After You've Recovered
Annual "recovery party" to commemorate your sobriety
Sometimes you invite the girls and your other friends, and sometimes you prefer to just spend the day at home with Jisoo
"Look at how far you've come, my love. I'm so proud of you."
♡♡♡♡♡
Jennie
She would be the only one who figured it out on her own. She picked up on the signs fairly quickly and always subtly helped steer you away from any potentially tempting situations
If you two watched a movie that happened to have a triggering scene in it, she always noticed how you'd look away and subconsciously tense up a bit
"Hey, babe. This movie's kinda boring; why don't we watch that new Netflix documentary instead?"
If the two of you were invited to parties that were likely to have a bunch of alcohol and drugs, sometimes she'd try to suggest staying in or doing something else instead
You eventually caught on to her diversion attempts, and sat down with her to have a talk.
"How long have you known?" You ask, pulling your legs up towards your chest as you sit back against the headboard of your California King.
"A few weeks," she starts, running a brush through her hair until it's untangled. Her damp locks stick to her shoulders as she approaches you, some strips slightly drier than others. "Were you ever gonna tell me?" She inquires softly, facing you as she sits down beside you on the bed.
"Of course, Jen. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner, I just… I was on my own with it before you. I didn't have anyone to turn to because everyone left once they found out." Your confession makes her chest ache -- it's a physical, honest pain that she feels as she imagines you battling such an unforgiving foe with no one in your corner. She places a warm hand on your thigh to comfort you, knowing just how much her touch helps when you're upset. "Hey, it's okay. There's no point in worrying about that now. I know it's hard to open up, babe, so thank you for doing this. I'm here to listen, alright?"
"Thank you, Jennie. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You'll never have to know, either, because I'm staying right here."
"I love you," you whisper, leaning forward to press a kiss to her lips.
"I love you, too," she sighs against you, preparing herself for the emotional night you're about to have. For now, she takes a moment to just pull you into her arms and rest her forehead against yours, finding comfort in your steady heartbeat.
"We'll start whenever you're ready."
Road To Recovery

You both help each other work through things
"You're my rock, Y/N/N."
"And you're my world, Jen."
Takes care of you during bouts of withdrawal
Sings to you to calm you down and help you relax
Takes you to theme parks and rides all the big coasters with you so you can get a similar high that you did from the drugs. She gets to be clingy with you and spend the day having fun, so she doesn't mind it, and you enjoy it just the same.

"We should visit that pottery place tomorrow! I've heard a lot of good things about it."
You stick close together when you're in public, especially when paparazzi are near
Your presence helps with her anxiety, and you hold her close and tell jokes to keep her attention off of it
Random surprise celebrations waiting for you when you get home
"Hey Jen, I'm home." You announce, shrugging your coat off before hanging it up on the metal rack next to the front door.
"In here," she calls from the kitchen, effectively pulling you in with that sweet voice of hers. When you reach the doorway and peek in, a dumbstruck smile slowly parts your lips as you see the set up she constructed.
"Happy 3 Weeks" a multicolored banner reads, displaying the phrase above your dining room table where Jennie sits. "Surprise, honey," she says softly, glancing down at the cake she made for you as she scoots it closer. You approach the table and examine it, practically feeling your heart grow 10 sizes from the love you hold for your girlfriend.
"Is this why you left practice early?"
"Mhm," she nods, kissing your cheek before she reaches into a small gift bag next to her chair. "I'm so proud of you," she grins, sliding a thin, glittery headband into your hair. It has two springs attached to the top that bounce in every direction possible, surely making you look like a dork.
"God, I love you."
"You'd better keep that same energy after trying the cake. I think I might've added too much baking soda…"
You shake your head and pull her in, pressing kiss after kiss to her lips until she's grinning just as hard as you.
Going on adventures with Kuma and Kai
Especially to dog parks and other national parks
Helps you fill things out for rehab and doesn't let you get too stressed about it

Rosé
You were really good at hiding your secret from people -- especially those that you care about most. You're always afraid that once they find out, they'll pack up and leave.
Rosé was one of the first to actually stay
She had been fairly oblivious to your struggles since you masked that side of yourself well, but one day the two of you attended a little get-together at your old friend's house, and your dirty laundry was aired.
"Bro, come on, let's play Truth or Dare!" One of your old friends says, perking up at the fact that he remembered the game even existed. He's already a little tipsy, but so are some of the others.
"I don't know, dude," you hesitantly start, missing the way that Rosé curiously raises a brow beside you.
"Come on, we'll keep it tame." Another person adds from the couch opposite you, their voice low. You recognize her as Cho, a sort of frenemy from your high school years. Something doesn't sit right for you with the hint of mischief that shines in her eyes, but your friends' pleas eventually push the feeling away and you relent.
"Fine, but if Austin gets dared to do some dumb shit like last time I'm dropping out."
"Like what?"
"Like what?" You ask back, disbelief evident in your voice. "Are you forgetting the fact that I had to bail you out after you got arrested for streaking down the neighborhood?"
"Okay, fair point," Austin holds his hands up in surrender. "Just a few rounds."
--
As everyone's once boisterous laughter finally dies down into quiet chuckles, you turn to Rosé for a quick kiss. She reciprocates and holds you there for a few more seconds, loving the way your lips feel against her own. As you brush your nose against hers and garner a sweet giggle from her, Cho interrupts the moment with a phrase that makes your blood run cold.
"So, Rosé, has Y/N told you about the time she got arrested for drug possession? Word on the street is that she still can't shake her old habit..."
Rosie feels the way you tense up at the question and pull away from her, cringing at the exposure you just received. The room goes silent, enabling a pen to be heard if it were dropped.
"Hey," Austin goes to defend you, about to yell at her for bringing up such a difficult topic.
"It's fine, Austin," you say, sticking your hand out in front of him to keep him from approaching her. The last thing you want right now is a screaming match about your struggles.
Rosie finally speaks up after what feels like an eternity, turning to Cho to say, "No, but that's none of your business. And I strongly advise that you don't speak on her name like that again." She cuts her eyes at the other girl, sending an icy glare at her to show that she's serious before giving her attention to you again.
When a few tense moments pass with no one really saying anything, Jackson, the host, speaks up. "I think you need to go, Cho."
"Ah, what a shame. The fun was just starting," she mockingly pouts, stopping next to you on her way out the door. Rosé strokes the back of your hand to soothe you, tracing mindless patterns with her thumb until your shoulders relax and you look into her eyes. With Cho now gone, your friends decide to go out into the backyard and give the two of you some time to clear things up.
"So, I guess we should talk." You start, pulling your legs up onto the couch to sit criss-cross. She studies the way that you begin to nervously fidget and drop eye contact, and the sight breaks her heart.
"Your past is your past, Y/N, and I won't ever judge you for it. I wish she wouldn't have brought it up like that -- I really wish she didn't," she says, emphasizing the word to remind you of how upset she is with Cho, "But I can tell that you're still struggling. I want to help you get better, and I'll be here with you every step of the way, babe. You mean the world to me." She smiles sadly, trying not to think of how much it would hurt to lose you.
"Okay," you breathe out, accepting the honest help that she's extending to you. You've been burned and lied to in the past, but you trust Rosé to stay true to her word and assist you on the hard journey laid out before you. "Let's start from the beginning," you say, preparing yourself to retell your struggles from the moment they began all those years ago.
Road To Recovery
Takes care of you when withdrawal hits hard
Isn't afraid to take the day off if it's bad enough and she needs to
"Hey, Teddy. Tell everyone that I'll be staying home today, okay? I've already let the girls know, too."
Reassurance to the max
"You're doing amazing."
Is your shoulder to cry on when times get tough
On a weekend trip, the two of you snuck away to the beach to go cliff diving. It was a thrilling experience, and you'll always remember that day with her
Helps you find healthier alternatives to your addiction that can make the transition easier until you fully recover
"Baby, look at this." She says, repositioning her laptop so that you can see what she's looking at. The two of you are sitting on the bed, and her legs are stretched out over yours. "These herbs are safe to smoke and they can help with a lot of your troubles. These over here," she says, pointing to a section of the screen, "help with stress and anxiety. They make it easier to relax." You nod, logging the information in your brain as you run a hand over her smooth skin to keep yourself calm. It's a habit that both of you love. "Thank you, Rosie. Nobody's ever done anything like this for me." You say, keeping your head down as you remember all the people that have left you behind in your time of need.
"You'd do the same for me, and I'm happy to be here for you." She declares, holding one of your hands within both of her own. She cradles it delicately, just like she does your heart. "I'll do whatever it takes to make you feel my love. I'm not going anywhere, babe." She leans in, connecting your lips in a sweet kiss.
Keeps your spirits up if you relapse
"You're not a failure, Y/N/N. This is just a setback, and we're going to get through it together."
One of her friends told her about a fun art class that's supposed to help people in recovery let go of some of their resentment and negative feelings, so she brought it up and you agreed to go
It was structured in two parts:
Part 1: Everyone went out to an old car lot that had various old vehicles, electronics, and other things to smash up. Once you let loose and relieved some of your tension, you collected scraps of the things you destroyed.
Part 2: With the scraps you brought back, you were told to create any type of artwork you wanted -- whatever felt right. Collage, graffiti, scrapbook, etc. At the end of the class, you were informed of the driving message behind it: Though the negative feelings and aversions you dealt with in the past may have left you feeling broken, you never really were -- you've always had the power to piece yourself back together and continue on.
After You've Recovered
Taking a month off work every year to travel and experience new things together. Usually consists of going to another city (or even country) and exploring their art museums and other artistics outlets
The new experiences help remind you off all the reasons you want to stay sober, and they help her have new material for her songs
Lots of pictures and drawings to remember all of your adventures
Collect trinkets to hang up / display, especially around the holidays
The girls have a special celebration waiting for you when you return
♡♡♡♡♡
Lisa
She could tell something was wrong when your behavior started to change over the course of a couple weeks
She suspected other things, but after finding a substance in your bag while on a vacation trip, she was blind sided by the reality of the situation
"Hey Lis, have you seen my swimsuit?" You casually ask, strolling into your hotel bedroom in search of the item. "I thought I left it--"
Your words catch harshly in your throat, nearly making you choke from how quickly you cut yourself off. She's sitting on the edge of the bed with the baggy in her hands, and tears brim in her eyes.
"Fuck," you wince, closing your eyes as you put your face in your hands. "You weren't supposed to find out like this."
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asks, staring straight ahead, though her eyes don't focus on anything in particular. Knowing you hurt her is bad enough, but seeing her like this makes the pain even more evident.
"I was going to, I promise. But I've been trying to wean myself off of it," you begin to explain, slowly walking across the room until you're in front of her. You squat down and put your hands on her thighs, staying quiet until she meets your gaze. "I've tried to quit cold turkey in the past but it didn't go down well. I figured I could handle this on my own and not get you involved."
"Baby, I want to be involved. You've been different lately, and having you shut me out didn't help ease my fears. I want to be a part of this, okay? You can turn to me when you feel alone," she says through the occasional tears that roll down her cheeks, "It's my job to help you and keep you safe. So let me," she crouches down next to you as she says the last part, wrapping her arms around you when she notices your lip tremble. "I'm not gonna let this get between us," she says against your shoulder, reminding you of how strong her love for you is.
"I'm sorry I waited so long," your words are muffled against her shirt, but she can hear how the emotion in them changes your voice slightly.
"We have to start somewhere, and this is just as good a time as any. I'm right here, Y/N/N."
Road To Recovery
Sweet texts and reminders throughout the day
"Hey baby, have you eaten today? The girls and I miss you like crazy."
--
"Don't forget about your check-up tomorrow. I already told my manager that I'll be taking the day off, so I'm all yours 😉"
--
"*image attachment* Question: Do you think Lego would look cute in this or do you think Lego would look cute in this? Because he WOULD."
Stargazing trips to talk about how far you've come
Making treats for the cats together if you have a bad day
Sometimes your withdrawal leaves you with weird cravings, but she never hesitates to race to the store at any hour and snatch up your favorite treats
Learning how to cook together to keep you occupied and give you a hobby (plus she's always wanted to get better at it)
“If you fling that at me, I swear to God I'll--”
"Oops!"
"LISA!"
Day trips to random parks and open locations to have little photoshoots when she has free days
Once took you bungee jumping for the experience and adrenaline rush
Bringing you into the studio if you're having a hard time and don't want to be alone
Always listens to you and shows how much she cares
Opts out of events if she suspects that drugs will be there to tempt you (considering you're always her plus one)
You still send her to enjoy herself at the events without you sometimes, though it does take a lot to convince her to leave you at home
"Okay, okay! But we're binging that new show when I get back."
Makes you laugh often and cheers you up when you need it most
She's your sunshine
After You've Recovered
Considering that you're her muse and she's the artist that she is, she hatched a plan early on to document your journey to recovery
"One more, babe. Just like that." She instructs, holding the camera up to her eye one final time. "Perfect."
"Alright, close your eyes and turn around." She commands while returning to the coffee table that sits in the middle of your living room. Her hands make quick work of putting the finishing touches on her gift for you while you patiently sway and hum to whatever song is stuck in your head at the moment.
"Annnnnd done!" She shouts, approaching you with a wide smile tugging at her lips as she holds the book out in front of herself. "It's a photo album. I started it the day you told me you wanted to try and get better," she says, smiling softly as she slowly walks you through the beginning pages of the book. "I thought it would be nice to see how far you've come," her eyes remain glued to the pictures she took as she continues flipping, and she fails to realize that you're staring at her now.
"I'm so in love with you. I can't thank you enough, Lis. This is beautiful." You shake your head in quiet disbelief, genuinely surprised that someone would work so hard on something for you. It shouldn't be a surprise with her though, considering how much she loves you, but it still baffles you sometimes.
"This gift only shows a fraction of my love for you, but I'm happy you like it. This is nothing, baby; there's so much more where this came from. Thank you for letting me in." She captures your lips in a meaningful kiss, and finds it hard to pull away. You seem to be her drug of choice, but neither of you care to end that sweet addiction.
Annual trips to photoshoots and fashion shows
Being her favorite model (seriously, she could look at you for hours on end)
Always feeling so loved and cherished, no matter what the two of you are doing

🌃 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 || 𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠
☆ han jisung x fem! reader ☆
☆ GENRE: college au, best friends to lovers au, fluff
☆ SUMMARY: There’s only one thing that can help your stressed out mind when you have a week left to finish the most important assignment for your art class of them all, and that is the honey voice of your best friend. What a shame he’s too shy to sing sometimes.
☆ WORDS: 5k
☆ WARNINGS: swearing and that is it me thinks
You hear the silent melody coming from your best friend sitting on the other side of the couch, quiet hums gradually flowing into coherent words as he mindlessly scrolls through social media on his phone, his low singing filling your empty living room as you take your eyes off your phone and watch him.
He looks casual, just like always. The army-green hoodie looks about two times his size enveloping his body, the hood thrown over his head to hide his messy hair, sweatpants hiding a little bit of his foot as well as if to make him look extra tiny today. The song coming out of his mouth sounds similar, yet it still sounds new to you when you catch him randomly singing during the day on times when he forgets he doesn't want anyone to hear.
"It cannot wait, I'm yours-" his head snaps up to meet your eyes, immediately shutting up and looking back to his phone screen.
"No, why'd you stop?" you whine, pouting. His voice is good. Too good, for never getting singing lessons and basically not even trying while he sings.
"'Cause it sounds bad," he mutters, furrowing his brows.
"It doesn't." you firmly say, desperate to make your best friend believe your words in order to hear him sing more often. For some reason, his singing always managed to bring a sense of comfort into your heart. It felt like the sunlight shining at you in the cold days of winter, sweet and soothing for your freezing heart.
"Yeah, right," his cheeks flash pink, rolling his eyes.
"You hear me singing all the time and I sound like a dying racoon, I really don't understand why you're so shy about it when you sound like angels coming down to earth to bless us all," you giggle, poking his sides.
He laughs softly at your compliment, shaking his head. This was how it usually went.
He started singing out of the blue, you stopped everything you were doing just to listen to him, then he realised you became too quiet and stopped in the very second.
"I wish you sang more. I like your voice," you point out, watching him flash an even deeper shade of pink as he shyly giggles at your confession.
"Sorry to break it to you, but I won't," he shakes his head in disapproval. It annoyed you, how he just never seemed to believe your words.
"But why? You never believe me when I tell you you sound good," you pout, furrowing your eyebrows and throwing your fists in the air in a sense of frustration.
"And that, my dear, is called not believing in yourself." he giggles, making you roll your eyes.
"I don't get it," you sigh, standing up and moving to the kitchen, "anyways, I am on my way to paint the rest of the assignment I have for my art class, so if you don't want to sing me something, at least put some music on," you yell white putting your empty mug into the sink.
As you walk back to the living room with your art supplies you managed to snatch from the desk where you put them before, you hear the familiar sound of your bluetooth speaker turning on, making you sigh. And that's for your daily dose of Han Jisung's singing. You sit cross-legged at the ground, taking your paint brushes into your hand, hearing the song he decided to put on playing from the speaker. You recognise it being the one he was humming to himself just a few minutes ago, smiling.
"What is the theme anyway?" he asks, genuinely curious.
"Nature," you roll your eyes, not really interested in painting trees the tiniest bit, but having to do it anyway, because you can’t just paint whatever you want and get away with it in your art class.
"So like, trees and stuff?" he teases you, knowing damn well how much you don't like the particular assignment in the first place.
"Trees, mountains, butterflies…" you ironically smile, blobbing a whole lot of green paint onto your palette, grunting, "and I wanted to be chosen for the showcase this year, but I guess we'll have to wait until the theme is not about rocks and rivers." you scoff.
"Oh please, you'll do great anyway," encourages you Jisung, "you can paint well even if it's just trees and mountains."
"I'm not Bob Ross, Jisung." you mutter, hating the way the green paint looks on the canvas in the first place.
"Yes you are," he giggles, "you paint just like him."
"Tells me the one who sounds like Mariah Carey but tries to act like he can't sing," you tease back, enjoying the way his eyebrows furrow at your comment.
"I can't do whistle notes yet," he smirks.
The car rides with Jisung were probably your most favorite. It wasn't for the fact that he doesn't drive too fast like most of your friends do, since as he said, he doesn't trust himself to slow down if he strats, but truth be told, that was also one of the reasons. But the main reason is, that you always get to hear him singing along to the radio, even if it's kind of difficult to hear over the loud music and the original singer. That doesn’t matter, though, because even the tiniest sign of him singing around you made you happy.
He doesn't seem to care as he yells the words to Riptide by Vance Joy on the top of his lungs, sounding like the song belongs to him, parking the car in the almost empty parking lot at Michael's craft store.
"No problem. What even happened, anyway?" he furrows his brows at you, confused on why you suddenly hit him up out of the blue in the evening as you swore on your life you couldn't hang out because you have to finish that disgusting assignment for your art class.
"Thanks." you smile at him as you ubuckle your seat-belt and open the door to his car.
"I fucked up on the painting and now I need to buy some new canvases," you grunt, rolling your eyes, "and green paint. A whole lot of green paint."
He snickers a little as he walks by your side, quickly turning around to lock his car and bringing his attention back to you, "I am sure it wasn't even that bad in the first place and you're just over-reacting."
"Yes it was, Jisung, you didn't see the disaster that painting became. I wanted to paint a bear and it looked like a degenerated pine tree." you blurb out, frustrated, as you take the shopping cart to your hands only for it to be snatched by the hands of your best friend helping you.
"Well, you could always say you wanted to be a little abstract," he grins at you.
"Yeah, sure. Miss Kim would absolutely kill me and I wouldn't get to the showcase this year again. Why am I majoring in art in the first place when I can't even get to the school's art showcase? That prick Minho got in three times already and he said he doesn't even like art in the first place!" you say, gritting your teeth.
"Why is he majoring in art, then?" asks Jisung, confused.
"Because he wanted a degree and he said it was the easiest major to pick," you roll your eyes.
"Well, I mean that is kind of smart, I should have picked that instead of business-"
"Jisung, you can't draw." you laugh.
"And? We were all born to express, not to impress," he waves his arms in the air, grinning. You laugh at his expression, facepalming as you reach for three containers of green paint from the counter and throwing it into the cart.
"If this is not enough of green paint, I swear to god I will kick something-"
"Hey! Peace. Think of the pigeons. Rainbows. Sunshine," he recitates, motioning you to breathe deeply to calm down your nerves, giggling in the process.
"Fuck the pigeons! I tried to paint one yesterday and it turned into a fucking rock in the air!" you throw a fit, making him shush you as a few people turn around to see your distressed state.
"Calm down, woman," he says, putting an arm on your back, gently pushing you to the cashier, "it's just a painting. You'll do great, don't worry. You're just stressing too much."
You grunt as you see another ruined canvas, throwing the brush onto the ground, muttering a quiet swear as you notice the paint on the floor, quickly taking a tissue and wiping it off.
"What's gotten into you? It's okay," sweetly says Jisung, once again sitting at your sofa and watching over you as you try to paint your assignment again.
"It looks bad! Just look at it! I have a week left and I already ruined three canvases, at this rate, I won't be able to even finish it, I can only dream of getting to the showcase," you mourn, throwing yourself to the ground and hiding your face in your hands.
"You just have to take it easy, you're pressuring yourself too much-"
"I've heard that already." you cut him off, growling.
You lay there for a while, breathing heavily, collecting your thoughts. Once you manage to calm down, you sit up and look at your best friend watching over you on the sofa, sighing. "I'm sorry. I'm just stressed out. I didn't mean to snap at you."
"It's okay." he nods, seeing you taking the brush into your hand again and trying to fix the blob of paint that was supposed to look like a squirrel, much reminding you of your dear best friend sitting next to you.
You feel a gentle grip on your hand after a few seconds, taking the brush out of it and putting it to the table. You furrow your brows and look at him, confused on why he is suddenly stopping you from your work, the contact of his skin on yours surprising you a little.
"We're done with painting today." he sternly says, stopping you.
"Ji, I have a week left to-"
"That's a lot of time! Stand up, we're having a karaoke night." he grins at you, pulling you up to your feet, as he takes his phone laying on the sofa into his hands and connects it to the bluetooth speaker.
"I have no time to have a karaoke night Jisung, what even is that-"
"Pick a song. Any song. We're about to sing our hearts out tonight and my mission won't be considered successful until your neighbours come to complain," he grins, giving the phone into your hand with his spotify app open already.
You look at him dead serious for a moment before sighing and looking through his embarrassingly long spotify playlist called ‘bops only’. "Fine," you sigh, "but just this once. And if they call the police on us, you're paying the fine for disturbing the silent hours."
"I didn't say anything about that-"
"Blah blah blah, I can't hear you!" you giggle, putting on I will survive by Gloria Gaynor on full volume to cut him off, throwing the phone back onto the sofa as you prepare for your singing solo.
You sneak your arms around his neck, dancing and laughing in the process as you loudly scream the lyrics into his face. He smiles at the sight, content with the fact that he managed to cheer you up so quickly, putting his arms on your hips as he jumps up and down, joining you in singing once the song hits the chorus.
And just this once, as his arms steadily hold your body and you throw a tantrum in your living room, he doesn't even care that you hear him sing as he knows you like to hear his voice. Maybe, just maybe, that was the reason why he suggested a karaoke night to cheer you up in the first place anyway.
"What do you mean you're not gonna be here on my birthday?" you pout from the ground, focused on the canvas right in front of you.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? But my mum really needs me to come help her with the atic, and you know how she gets when I refuse to come home at least once a month even though I constantly tell her I don't have the time to travel for 45 minutes just so she can see my face once in a while…" sighs Jisung, laying on your sofa so his head is now facing the same way yours does, and that is, your half-empty canvas.
"I know, I know. But does it really have to be on my birthday? You're going to be away for three days, and the showcase is on Friday…" you mumble, "if I get there, of course." you sigh.
"I'm sorry," he mumbles, sounding genuinely concerned. It was currently Monday and your birthday was on Thursday, which meant you had four days to finish your art piece to submit it on the exact day of your birthday to see if your teacher accepts it for the showcase of the following day. And you're not even halfway done with your work! To be exact, you feel like you're gonna fail and to not have your best friend by your side to help you through your stress, you truly feel like you'll go insane.
"I know," you sigh, "it's okay. I guess I'll just… manage, somehow." you scoff.
"You can always celebrate with that friend from your art class, and we'll celebrate together on Saturday, when I come back. What was that kid's name again?" he furrows his brows at you, turning your way to see your focused face.
"You mean Hyunjin? No, thank you. He'd just want me to get drunk and I really don't need that the day before the showcase," you mumble, painting the leaves of the tree carefully, focusing on every single detail. Jisung always adored your talent. Everything you ever drew was a masterpiece in his eyes. He even kept the notes you gave to him in high school once when he was sick and you managed to take notes for him as well when you shared a Chemistry class, sneaking a few doodles on the sides when you got bored of listening to the teacher, "but that will come handy when I don't get in again, so I'll consider it." you roll your eyes.
"You will get in." he reassures you again, finding your eyes.
"I doubt that," you bitterly laugh.
"Ugh, stop that already," he grunts, focusing on the canvas again, feeling relaxed just at watching you do your magic, but you throw the paintbrush on the table again at that exact moment and run your hands through your hair in frustration.
"What?"
"It looks like shit. Again." you exclaim.
His eyes go wide at the sentence, disbelief washing over him. Did you really think that?
"What the fuck? It doesn't! It looks amazing, trust me," he says, reaching his arms to you, taking you by the shoulder from his position on the sofa.
"I am so stressed Jisung, I feel like I'm about to go insane." you whisper, sighing.
You don't have to say more for Jisung to stand up from his position on the sofa only to sit on the ground behind you, sneaking his arms around your middle and bringing you close to him, gently rocking you in your position on the floor. You feel his nose nuzzling into the crook of your neck, breathing in your scent as he quickly pecks your cheek and settles his head back onto your shoulder.
You hear him softly singing into your ear, the words filling your insides with gold as his voice feels like honey, calming you down from the storm happening inside of you like a brim of light.
"And I see colors in a different way, you make what doesn't matter fade to grey, life is good and that's the way it should be," he sings softly, a wide smile appearing on your features with every next word.
His voice calms your nerves as you slowly relax in his hold, your bodies gently rocking to the rhythm of the song as it slowly ends and his voice grows quieter.
He hated singing in front of people.
But to see you smile, he would go as far as overcoming his biggest fears. Because when you need him, he will always be there.
"Jisung, I have no time for this, I already told you I need to finish the assignment-" you mumble as you sit in his car, his smiling face looking at you from the driver's seat.
"I'm leaving tomorrow morning and I can't have you painting for more than an hour today because I feel like you'll break down if you do, so let's go. And you're already in the car, so there's no escape anyway." he explains, waiting for you to buckle in your seatbelt.
You just sigh and look out the window, biting down on your lip. If he keeps distracting you this much, you'll never finish the assignment.
You hear him softly singing along with the radio, careful not to disturb him in fear of making him stop, smiling to yourself as you let him drive you to an unfamiliar place in the middle of the night. You count the lampposts, the habit you grew to have since you were little, before they disappear and you're on a road shadowed by tall trees, the headlights of Jisung's car being the only thing illuminating the road.
You recognise you're going up a hill, looking over at him, seeing him focused on the road.
As you reach the top, Jisung stops the car and gets out, you follow him as he waits for you by the door to the passenger’s side.
As soon as you look around, you're amazed by the sight in front of you. You have a view of the city far, far away in the distance as you see the dell illuminated by the subtle glow of the moon sitting up in the starry sky. You watch the sight with an open mouth, awe washing over you as you just can't keep your eyes off the landscape in front of you.
"Wow," you breathe out.
You feel his hand gripping yours as he leads you to the edge of the hill, sitting at the giant rock there, pulling you down next to him as you watch the nature breathe in front of you. His hand doesn't leave yours as he speaks up after a while.
"You like it?" he asks, quiet enough to not disturb the atmosphere.
"Yeah," you whisper. You see him moving closer to you from the corner of your eye, his head leaning on your shoulder as he enjoys your presence.
"I wanted to show you this before I go, so you have a moment to breathe for a second before you throw yourself into the stress again," he mumbles, gently playing with the fingers of your hand.
"Thank you," you speak, breathing in the chilly air of the forest.
You stay like that for a while, just gazing over the beauty of it all, making you feel like the time stopped for the two of you only as you enjoy the seconds that pass. The full moon watches over the two of you, captivating you as you look at it with a feeling of delight. You hear his gentle voice in your ear again, singing softly and beautifully, sounding magical at the top of the hill, once again filling your ears with melody as your insides tingle.
"Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars, and let me see what spring is like on a-Jupiter and Mars," he sings, voice tender and sweet, slowing down the tempo of the song on purpose.
"In other words, baby, kiss me," he sings softly, voice fading as his eyes move to your lips, the silence of the hill and the light breeze tickling your skin.
You feel your eyes wandering to his lips, nervously licking yours in the process. You see him hesitantly move closer to you, stopping halfway to see if you pull away, taking his other hand and resting it on your cheek. His breath fans your face as he moves even closer, nudging your nose with his, eyes gazing to yours, your trembling fingers squeezing his hand as if to tell him to go ahead, fluttering your eyelids close.
Once the moment finally comes and his shy lips press to yours, you feel yourself responding immediately, moving with him as the familiar feeling of the sun in your stomach greets you with full force, your other hand going up to rest on his neck.
When he pulls away and rests his forehead against yours, you can't help but smile. His soft giggle fills your ears like music, your lips meeting his in a soft, quick peck in the instance.
"In other words, hold my hand," he continues, softly squeezing your hand resting in his lap, making you look at him, locking your eyes with his as he stares at you, gaze full of stars.
Han Jisung's always been your best friend. But perhaps tonight, you finally understood the fact that life feels sweet as honey anytime he's around you.
In other words, you love him.
You toss and turn in your bed, tears silently falling down your cheeks on a Wednesday night. Jisung's left this morning and you didn't even finish doing your assignment. You had the whole day for it today without anyone bothering you, but turns out, you managed to hate the painting you did anyway.
It just didn't look good in your eyes. It looked gross. Horrible. When you compare yourself to the other people in your class, you feel like your art is worthless. It always somehow managed to look bad. And everybody knew.
You were the only one who wasn’t good enough to get into the annual art showcase in your three years of college.
Did you even improve at all?
You turn around in your bed, seeing your phone light up with a new notification, opening it and wiping your tears away in the process so you can see though your blurry eyes.
'How did the assignment go?' there states, Jisung's name appearing on the message app, your insides automatically calming down a little at the thought of your best friend.
'Don't even ask', you shoot him a reply, sighing deeply to stop the salty tears from falling.
'It's okay, baby' he replies instantly, your heart racing at the nickname appearing on your screen, bitterly laughing at yourself for acting like a schoolgirl when it comes to Jisung. When did your feelings even grow into something more in the first place? It seemed like it was that way from the start. Perhaps you were just too oblivious to notice.
'It's not. Didn't even finish it. Kicked it when I fucked up again and just gave up.' you type, already friends with the feeling of defeat and failure you've been feeling since the evening.
He doesn't respond for a while, making you think he fell asleep with the phone in his hand again, turning around in your bed to put the phone back onto your bedside table to try to fall asleep on your own as well, when a new message lights up your screen.
You see a voice memo appearing in your messages with Jisung, your heart thumping at the image of hearing his voice this late in the evening, quickly pressing the play button and listening to what he had to say.
"Hi, umm- I've never actually done this before, but I know you're probably feeling like shit right now and I need you to know that you are not a failure, because I know you feel like one right now," you giggle a little at the accuracy, his low voice making you feel things you didn’t even know you could feel before, "anyways, I need you to be kind to yourself tonight. And since I know you like it when I sing, here's a little something…" he mumbles into the phone, making your heart race.
"Here goes nothing," he softly laughs, and clears his throat, beginning to sing, "Wise men say only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love with you," his voice feels soft through the speaker, your eyes welling up with tears again, but this time, they're of appreciation and pure love for the boy laying in his bed 45 minutes away from you, because you know just how nervous he must have felt to sing into his phone just for you.
"Shall I stay? Would it be a sin, if I can't help falling in love with you?" he finishes, his voice fading away, your insides melting. How did you get so lucky?
"And now go to sleep. It's your birthday tomorrow, we don’t want you to feel sad on your special day. Good night, baby." he sounds, the nickname bringing another set of butterflies into your stomach.
You wish you could do as he told you. But at that exact moment, you bring yourself to try again, you make yourself stand up from your bed and move to your living room as you take a new canvas with you, inspiration kicking you with full force, taking tubes of paint and a paintbrush into your hand as you begin to work on your assignment, trying again just one last time.
You stand in front of your painting, watching over it with proud eyes. The chatter of people around you is only a background noise in your ears as you smile brightly at the assignment you finished just the time the clock striked midnight on Wednesday.
"Yaaah y/n, it looks so good," you hear the voice of Lee Minho call next to you, patting your shoulder.
You grin and turn to look at him, gratitude washing over you upon hearing the compliment. "Thanks."
"I wondered when you're finally going to be on a showcase, I don't understand why neither of your previous assignments made it," he mutters, shaking his head, "but this looks great. It's original." he nods.
"Thank you, Minho," you only smile wider, the pride in you growing minute by minute, "yours looks great too, by the way. I like the colors."
"Really? I hate it. I never hated a theme more than this," he huffs, "who the fuck thinks nature is entertaining to paint?"
"I know, right? I had four mental breakdowns over it," you laugh, now that the suffering is finally over and you can breathe freely.
"Did you use reference for this?" he asks suddenly, pointing to the painting hanging on the middle of the wall.
"No, I did it from memory…" you mumble, sighing.
You watch Minho's eyes shifting somewhere behind you, grinning widely at something that caught his eye, prompting you to look that way only to be left in a state of absolute shock.
The talking of the people filling the showcase gradually stops as they see Han Jisung holding a plate of a strawberry cheesecake with a single candle stuck to the middle of it, moving slowly not to make the light flicker die down, the grinning face of Hwang Hyunjin following his steps with a bottle on champagne in his hands doing grimaces at you from afar as a honey voice calls through the room.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, dear y/n," he looks at you, eyes big and full of love, as he finally reaches your figure in the middle of the room,
"Happy birthday to you!" he finishes, your soft giggles cutting through the hall as you move to blow out the candle and gaze onto the face of your best friend.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were coming in the evening!" you yell, throwing yourself into his arms. It was only three days, but you already missed him too much.
"I escaped," he laughs, his whole body shaking in the process as you pull away after a second, "I'm joking. I couldn't stay with my mother knowing I'm gonna miss your first ever showcase."
You smile warmly at him, the people around you disappearing in the moment, only his figure standing out to you in the haze as he hesitantly moves over and locks your lips in a quick kiss.
You ignore the howling of Lee Minho coming from your left and the loud 'Finally!!' from the lips of Hwang Hyunjin to your right as Jisung turns to your painting, smiling widely at the sight.
"It looks so real," he mumbles in awe, noticing the way his insides turn into a puddle of sweet joy as he recognises the night view of the dell he showed you on the night of your first kiss, instantly realising the way you must have painted it after he sent you the voice memo to sing you to sleep on the Wednesday night.
"You inspired me," you grin brightly.
"Don't say that." he shyly looks down on his feet.
"But it's true." you prompt.
He smiles lightly, shaking his head before locking your eyes again.
"I just realised I left your gift at home. Look at me, wishing you happy birthday a day later and not even bringing you a gift to make up for it…" he mutters, stepping closer to you and putting an arm around your shoulder in the process.
"That's okay," you say, and you really mean it. You are the happiest you've ever been right now, feeling accomplished and with him by your side. You don’t need any other gift.
"Well, I have one thing in my mind that can count as a gift, though," he smirks.
"And that is?"
"I can finally be your boyfriend. I mean, isn't that the best gift you’ve ever gotten?" he grins, prompting you to elbow him lightly in the ribs as you burst into a fit of laughter.
"You're such a dork, I swear to god…"
"But I am your dork, right?"
You sigh, playfully rolling your eyes. "Yes, Jisung. You are my dork. Only mine."

The Kiss Thief - Park Seonghwa Social Media AU
7. Chapter Three: Dark History Reunion✨ (Text below images)
Previous Part✨ Next Part✨
Masterlist of the AU✨
The Next Day (05.09.19)✨
The moment Jongho entered Cafe Utopia, he could feel the intimidating energy coming from the table where the much praised music technology senior, Kim Hongjoong and his friend are seated. The person who he texted yesterday, Seonghwa, is missing.
Thanks to San and Wooyoung, he now has an opportunity to befriend them.
He approaches them with heavy steps without realising how aggressive-nervous he's appearing on the outside, the expression that Yeri always mimics to mock him.
They greet him with inviting smiles. The other guy, in burgundy red sweater and black beanie, Yeosang, scriptwriter, offers him the script to read. However, the only thing he can focus on is Kim Hongjoong's mullet.
How can he even pull off a mullet like that? Is it real?
"Your voice sounds bold and clean." Hongjoong leans towards his clasped fingers, a gentle smile on his lips, "You seem a little nervous at the moment but we have enough time to practice."
Yeosang nods, "He has a great control over his voice. I feel like we've finally found someone who'll do my script justice."
Jongho's shoulders rise up with confidence.
"Wait, thank you but does it mean I get to be the announcer?" He looks expectantly at the duo.
Hongjoong settles back, adjusting his glasses. "Of course! I'm honestly surprised at how quickly I could decide."
Yeosang pushes the script further towards Jongho. "Take it with you and practice as much as you can, we'll have discussions and rehearsals before our first show."
"Thank you so much for this opportunity!" He bows gratefully, eyes glinting with happiness.
Hongjoong and Yeosang exchange glances and giggle making Jongho squeeze his brows in confusion.
"You look adorable for someone so well built but you're so tense, relax." Hongjoong winks.
"He IS cute." Yeosang adds.
Jongho is taken aback by their sudden compliments. "I just feel excited to work with you all, I've heard so many good things about you." He confesses.
Hongjoong waves his hand in the air. "The professor only tells you the good things, he doesn't reveal that I don't get enough sleep, it's a trap." He points at his now visible eyebags.
"Don't scare him away before Seonghwa comes." Yeosang says with a side eye directed at his mullet friend.
Jongho is reminded of the missing person, Seonghwa, who he messaged yesterday.
"You were going to bring along someone who's interested in audio engineering? Did they decide otherwise last minute?" Hongjoong asks with a subtly evident worry.
"Oh! Yes, (Y/N) had a class till 5 pm, she'll be here anytime now." As Jongho finishes, the cafe door opens, the bell chiming and indicating your arrival.
The class ended a little later than expected and like a mess, you had collected your things and rushed towards the cafe.
After hitting it off with San and Wooyoung so quickly you feel like you can seize anything at this point except the will to attend classes after only two weeks of college.
Dazzling Night appears like a safe getaway from the continuous routine of being stuck with studies.
"Jongho!" You call out rather loudly, grabbing everyone's attention including the two boys sitting with Jongho, wait does that guy have a mullet?
Your friend gestures you to come, you smile sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I had a class." A little panting can be heard as you speak.
"It's alright, Jongho informed us. I'm Kim Hongjoong, music technology, final year." He offers you his hand and you stare at it for a minute before realising what you're supposed to do.
"Oh right!" You shake his hand. "I am (Y/N), I'm studying law."
The other boy offers you a small smile. "I'm Yeosang, English major, second year."
You return him the same expression as his. "Nice to meet you."
Wow, this is awkward.
"You're interested in assisting our audio engineer, are you aware of any basics?" Hongjoong crosses his arms and you can detect the anime gleam on his glasses while he looks at you, awaiting an answer.
You glance at Jongho then at the two boys. Their gaze is fixated on you intently, emitting strong energy.
You gulp.
Okay, they're strangers anyway (Y/N), keep calm.
"No, I don't know much but I'm interested in learning." You answer honestly, fingers fideling on your lap.
"Can you manage your studies and radio commitments? We don't want anyone leaving halfway through." Yeosang continues his friend's query and suspicions.
Ha-ha, perhaps this was a bad decision.
Jongho squeezes your hand beneath the table.
"Yes, I think I can manage well once I begin, you don't need to worry about me dropping out halfway through." No matter how certain you wish to sound, the way they have their eyes fixed on you causes you to speak in an uncertain tone.
"Okay Hongjoong, we can tone it down now, she looks like she's gonna run away." Yeosang states before sipping his drink. "We just want fixed commitment, Hongjoong is critical when it comes to decisions regarding the show, so is Seonghwa."
Seonghwa? That's a name you know.
Hongjoong clears his throat. "Wait, I haven't used my intimidating voice for a while now, I am sorry if I sound like I'll kill you but I'm just sleep deprived." He vigorously rubs his eyes.
"They called me adorable after intimidating me." Jongho rolls his eyes.
"Now now, young man, watch your attitude." Yeosang comments playfully.
"Could've told me sooner!" You gently shove Jongho, "Also, yes, please tone it down, my left leg is ready to sprint out any moment now." You eye the door and then the mullet guy.
All the boys laugh at your remark.
"Don't worry, if something important comes up, you can leave, studies shouldn't be compromised with but otherwise we want your full attention when working with us." Yeosang smiles warmly at you.
You return to a comfortable state before studying their now relaxed postures. "So? Can I join?"
Hongjoong pushes back his hair. "Of course, if you're up for it but you need to meet the rest of the team. I'm the composer, Yeosang is the scriptwriter. Our team leader and audio engineer are still missing." He checks his ridiculously beautiful vintage watch.
"Okay" You breath out with a chuckle, eyes trailing back to his mullet. Unable to hold back your curiousity about the unusual hairstyle, you ask. "Are you wearing clip ons or is that really a naturally grown mullet?"
The owner of the mullet is taken aback by your question for a moment before breaking into laughter.
"God! I've been dying to ask that." Jongho mutters beside you, doubling Hongjoong's laughter.
You and Jongho blink expectantly.
Yeosang shakes his head, "These kids."
Hongjoong tugs his hair at the nape of his neck, huffing a sigh. "It's a real mullet. You two have been eyeing my hair since ever you came here, I was just waiting for you to ask."
Jongho scratches the back of his neck. "To be fair no one has a mullet these days but you pull it off well."
You nod at your friend's statement.
"What are we laughing about?" A heavy voice grabs the table's attention and you turn around along with Jongho.
An extremely familiar tall boy appears in your vision with another one following behind and your eyes go wide.
No way, no way, no way!
"Hey! You made it! Meet Jongho and (Y/N), our newest members that is, of course if Seonghwa approves." Hongjoong greets them both and the moment he says the name, it clicks in your head.
Park Seonghwa, Horizon High School.
"Hey, we were-" Seonghwa abruptly halts in his tracks.
(Your Full Name), Horizon High School.
You unknowingly shoot up from your seat.
"Um, (Y/N) is everything okay?" Jongho glaces from behind at the newest arrivals.
"Wait!" Mingi takes a good look at you and turns to Seonghwa before he starts giggling to himself, confusing the other three boys seated at the table.
Song Mingi, Horizon High School.
Warmth is taking over your face like a pressure cooker ready to burst merely at the sight of the boy standing in front of you, he too blinks at you as if confirming that you're actually standing in front of him.
"What's the matter? Why do you two look like you've seen ghosts." Yeosang asks whilst Mingi continues his snickering.
The giggling boy takes a seat between his friends, looking at your frozen figures amusingly.
"This is a dark history reunion." He nudges Hongjoong and Yeosang.
"Mingi!" Seonghwa glares and steals another glance at you before taking the remaining seat, the one beside you.
Jongho looks around, lost. "Dark history reunion?"
You turn around and almost slam yourself down on the seat.
Hongjoong and Yeosang are wearing mirrored puzzled expressions.
You clap your hands with over enthusiasm, "I just remembered that I have a meeting with a project partner at the library, I gotta go."
No, you don't.
"No wait, What's going on here?" Hongjoong's gaze continues shifting between you and Seonghwa while you two are busy avoiding eye contact with each other.
"Dark history reunion." The amusement still hasn't faded off Mingi's face and now he earns a death glare from you.
Seonghwa taps the table, grabbing attention. "It's nothing, she's free to leave if she's done."
You get up the moment he speaks.
Oh, this has just become way worse, way worse.
Mingi raises his brow, "What if she's here for the announcer's position?"
"No, Jongho's here for that, Hongjoong already talked with (Y/N), she's free to leave." Yeosang intervenes noticing your sudden urgent movements.
You internally thank him for that.
"I uh, well I think, I think I'll talk to you guys later." You grab your belongings in a big swoop.
"Aw no, you're leaving so soon? We just came here!" Mingi wears a wicked wide smile as he speaks.
"We can talk later, Mingi. It's not like I'm dropping out of college tomorrow! (I just might!)" You answer with a loud, fake laugh, trying hard not to grit your teeth.
Mingi hasn't changed at all. He is as you remember.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Jongho looks at you, his expression demanding an explanation.
"She knows Seonghwa too, very well!" The mischievous one strikes again.
"Oh, Seonghwa and (Y/N) are acquainted?" Hongjoong chimes in.
"Yes we are, we went to the same school." Seonghwa leaves his seat to give you way. "See you later (Y/N)."
You feel strangely assured looking at his stark red ears.
"Oh yes, yes, Seonghwa--" You take him in briefly before looking at the rest, "--and others I'll see you guys later, gotta run!"
Keeping your eyes straight ahead, you walk out of the cafe like you never even went there, half walking and half running towards your dorm room.
Song Mingi, I'm going to get you.

You Were Beautiful (Haikyuu x Day6 - songfic?)
"The way you look at me, the way you call my name, you were beautiful."
Pairing: Iwaizumi x f!reader
Summary: Iwaizumi, anxious with the ceremony about to start, calls you, hoping that he'd see your face.
A/N: Long overdue but I've always been interested on writing a songfic for Day6 (when Dilag introduced me to Day6 again we talked about this hehe)
Warning: fluff(?), Angst(?), Mention of a Filipino superstition (?)
Iwaizumi fix his already fixed tie for the nth time as he cleared his throat. His feet tapping relentlessly on the carpeted church floor. Chills running down his spine as the hair on his skin stood tall.
He swallowed, cracking his fingers as he bit his lip. Uneasy with the ceremony about to start, he needed something, he needed someone.
And so, giving in to his uneasiness, he reached for his phone that was kept on the back of his black slacks. His fingers familiar with his phone, they lead him to his apps in an instant, pressing the recent contact in his social media in a flash.
The screen showed a video of him. Iwaizumi winced at how troubled he look. He immediately flattened the creases on his forehead and relaxed his furrowed brows. A couple of minutes, the screen showed you.
Iwaizumi inhaled as he stare at you. The resolution was not that much but that didn't hinder Iwaizumi from appreciating how beautiful you look for this particular day.
Your hair was styled artistically, with flowers pinned at different parts of your hair. A couple of strand adorned the side of your face. The make-up applied on you making you more appealing than you already are.
"Iwa!" You exclaimed and that made the worries disappear. His heart finally relaxing as the tension on his shoulders lifted. A mere mention of his name from you does the magic. The way your roll your tongue as you articulately pronounce his name would always be a wonder. He wasn't a fan of his given name but you make it sound so beautiful into his ears.
"You're not supposed to call," you said while fixing your bouquet, which is why you weren't able to see how Iwaizumi dreamily sigh at your face, "You know how they say it-"
"Jinxes the wedding," Iwaizumi cut you off, a ghost of boyish grin on his lips, "I know but I can't help it."
You rolled your eyes, "What would happen if others see me?" You asked him as you burried your nose onto your bouquet of flowers.
"The wedding will still push through," Iwaizumi cooed you as he scratched his nape, behind him stood the setup for where the priest would be later on.
"Iwa," you mentioned his nickname, making Iwaizumi's heart flutter, "Thank you for everything..." You said with your eyes glistening amidst the low quality of the call you both shared.
"It's nothing, Y/N," Iwaizumi felt a painful stab on his chest as he looked at you looking so happy on the other side.
"I didn't know this day would come..." You gasped and sniffed, your fingertips carefully dabbing the inner corners of your eyes, "God, I never imagined this..." Your voice broke.
"Hey, hey, no crying," Iwaizumi laughed as his fingers lifted, only to fall again as he realized you're out of reach, "Don't ruin your make-up. This is your day, you should look beautiful."
"Oh? So I'm not beautiful in a daily basis?" You retorted with a fake offended look. Iwaizumi chuckled.
"Nah, you're always beautiful," Iwaizumi confessed with all his heart.
Beautiful for you fill his head the moment he opens his eyes. For you drown his thoughts with your voice at night. Beautiful with the way you look at him with so much adoration, it awes him how a human being is capable of expressing so much. Beautiful at all things. Even with the way you called his name. How you unconsciouly marked it as yours, without you, it never sounded the same.
He had his attempts of forgetting you, but never was he successful. If he did, he wouldn't be here, he would've ran away. But all these escaping lead him back to you instead.
"Y/N," Iwaizumi cracked, his eyes suddenly copying yours, he blinked away the intruding tears, "Thank you for everything, too."
You chuckled, hands covering your mouth, "I love you, Iwa. Thank you," you replied.
He chuckled, hiding how his eyes is close to tearing up, "Anything for you, beautiful."
"Best man!"
Iwa looked at his back, only to see the wedding coordinator standing at the center, with a list on the other hand, "Best man?"
"Here!" Iwaizumi exclaimed as he raised his hands, he then looked back at his screen again, "Y/N, I gotta go. The coordinator is making us prepare."
"Oh, okay! Okay!" The excitement can be heard on your voice as you adjusted on your seat, "I love you, Iwa! See you later at my wedding!"
Iwaizumi nodded with an enthusiastic grin, "See you later."
I don't know if this is also a superstition other countries apply but it is said that the bride shouldn't be seen by the groom as much as possible because it would jinx the wedding. It varies from different people, though. Some say that the bride shouldn't be seen by other people as much as possible and that is the version that I used here :)))

Am i the only one who definitely DIDN'T interpret this as harry talking to a girl with whom they were never "official" but rather to someone (*cough* louis) who isn't the "official" partner.
This is from prior to take me home. Harry had "girlfriends" in the public eye. He's telling this person "you're not my girlfriend, so what! Not the person that the public sees me with, we're not official, there is someone else who the public sees me with, but don't pretend that that invalidates that what we have is real".
This feels like a mirror of JALBOYH with "And I don't feel the need to know who you're with, I can't even think straight but I can tell, You were just with her" and "i know i'm not your only, but at least i'm one"
To me this reads like a song that he would've written after they had a big fight, before they officially started dating. They were probably still pretending to be just friends at this point, but something had already happened between them, probably had fully confessed their feelings to each other. Harry probably messed up in terms of saying something like "let's not ruin this friendship by dating" (even though they wouldn't STOP acting like a couple) and louis agreed but he was actually hurt (because he didn't want to live with seeing harry constantly "date" other people when he couldn't be one of them, or pretend to just be friendly when harry still looked at him like THAT), harry realised that he had fucked up and that louis definitely wasn't okay with just being the "good friend", and louis distanced himself. Louis probably said something petty like "why do you care what i do, i'm not your girlfriend, we're nothing, i'm just your 'good friend'" throwing harry's words back at him (i'm p sure that louis also referred to themselves as 'just good friends' during one of the bullshit pseudo larry denials, so harry might be mocking his words in here). Louis also possibly put a stop to any not-so-platonic cuddling, nicknames, fooling around, non-friendly stuff (for his own sanity - baby didn't want to fall more in love with someone who said they should just be friends), which is why harry calls him out: "tell me you don't miss the feeling (of doing those things before louis put a stop to it and distanced himself - harry wants louis to say that he misses him)"
Louis wasn't there when harry needed him (and harry needed him precisely because he was sad that he'd lost his best friend and *cough* soulmate - c'mon how many times have we read this exact same scene/sentence in friends-to-lovers trope fics) They're literally in the same band, harry was "always going to hear [his] name".
"Now you rest everything on these three words" really makes me picture an angry louis screaming "what do you mean just friends?! You said I Love You!" BUT ALSO, that's prefaced by "a story you heard" so what if instead Louis heard a rumour about harry getting serious with some "girlfriend" and instead he screamed "you said I Love You to her!" Feeling cheated by harry? I have read countless articles about different celebrity couples that include a sentence along the lines of "sources close to the couple confirm that they are going steady - they have already shared 'I Love Yous' and have met each other's families". It's irritably common.
Harry says that the other person will be fine, but basically that he himself won't be. He thinks that he messed up for good and that louis will basically move on fast. Louis and Harry pretty much unofficially shared a bed in Princess Park - we know that, hence the "I'm gonna sleep alone tonight". (EDIT: @imbellarosa suggested that this could also be a clarification, to louis, to the world, that he's going to sleep by himself, not with another person. This harry is telling you that he wasn't an easy womanizer who slept around as he was constantly said to be. He either slept with his person, or alone. He shared a bed with louis, or with no one at all).
Lastly, this was probably written at the same time as Don't Let Me Go, which is the exact theme.
"I saw in the corner there is a photograph // No doubt in my mind it's a picture of you // It lies there alone in it's bed of broken glass // This bed was never made for two" (also see "Share a single bed and tell each other what we dream about" for happier content, but i digress).
Again there's the theme of sleeping by himself after a fight (read: broken picture frame). Harry also says "i'll keep my eyes wide open, i'll keep my arms wide open" meaning "i promise to start noticing things, i'll notice when i've done something hurtful, i promise to notice how the stunts and how i act with others hurts you".
"Seems like these days I watch you from afar" again, Louis has distanced himself.
In Half The World Away Harry realises that he's lost his best friend and the guy he loves. In Don't Let Me Go he begs Louis not to actually move on as his fear of this sets in. DLMG is Denial, Bargaining and Depression. HTWA is Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
Edit: this tweet reflects this whole idea of harry's public "womanizer" perception affecting his personal life:
"In 2013, while the media portrayed Harry as a womanizer, he locked himself in to write songs like JALBOYH, two ghosts, HTWA, DLMG, and many others that we may never hear, because he was insecure and was afraid that that person would leave him".

Sleepwalk
I was listening to Sleepwalk by Renee Olstead, and I had this idea.
Grump: Danny (from now on, most will be Danny. Unless you request someone else, which I will be happy to do!)
Btw! I'm this plot, Renee didn't write the lyrics. You did! She isn't even a singer in this universe. Just a heads up.
-
Y/n's POV
I can't sleep tonight. It's been a month since me and Danny broke up, but I can't help but still mourn our relationship. It was mutual, at least that's what he thinks. I would've never called it off. I was so in love with him. I still am. We told the fans, and they were pretty supportive in what we did. A lot of them were really sad, as was I. Danny is a singer just like me. I do silly songs just like him. But he encouraged me to do a cover album or a cover song. I did one album, Cover Me Up was the name. It got a lot of love, which I am very proud of.
I turn on my phone to check the time. 4:23 am. The bold numbers shine at me in front of Danny's face. I couldn't bring it to myself to change my screensaver. It's not like anyone's gonna see. I miss him a lot, every night gets harder than the last. He was my world. I've known him since senior year of high school, he was a huge part of my life. And now... That's no more. He's probably living his best life. Being Danny Sexbang and all. He probably has girls flying at his feet, throwing him their panties and offering 'the night of his life'. I understand I might be over thinking, but I can't help it. He was mine, and now he's out there doing who knows what. I let a few stray tears fall down ontou pillow. It's so lonely here at night now. I love what I do, singing, dancing, having fun. It was just so much more amazing when I had someone to share it with.
I lay my head back a stare at the ceiling. I need to distract myself, so I reach for my headphones and plug them in, looking for my Oldies playlist. I click on it and the song that comes on is Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny. Listening to the slow beat and light guitar, I cry even more. Just my luck, huh? I can't just lay here, I really should get up and something. Writing usually helps me calm down. That's when I get an idea for a song, it's a bit sad and people will know exactly who its about. But maybe that's what needs to happen. My feelings should be out there. And if something goes wrong, I'll accept the outcomes.
I pull up my pen and notebook and just start writing.
"Sleepwalk, instead of dreamin' I
Sleepwalk.
Cause' I lost you and now, what am I to do?
Can't believe that we're through.
Sleep talk. Cause' I miss you, I sleep talk.
While the memories of you wither like a soul.
Darling I was so low.
The night fills me with blame. I see your face, tears through my brain.
I know I miss you so. I still love you, drives me insane.
Sleepwalk. Every night I just sleepwalk. Please come back, and when you walk inside the door, I will sleepwalk no more."
I immediately went to my computer set up and staring out my own little version of Sleepwalk. More of like a piano and violin cover, rather than guitar and drum. Once I had it to where I wanted the beat and rhythm, I pulled up my microphone and started singing away.
Danny's POV
This morning was the worst. I couldn't sleep at all, I've been up since 3:30 am. I guess I haven't really gotten used to sleeping by myself. Without y/n's body near mine, it's hard to even get tired. I do miss her. A lot actually. I know it was my idea to call off the relationship, but I was scared of what would happen if I didn't have enough time for her. I have game grumps, starbomb, and ninja sex party. She deserves someone who has all the time in the world to give her all the attention she deserves. When we told the fans, I didn't expect them to be so sad. I even lost a handful of fans because of it. She agreed, but I knew her better. She was on the verge of tears when she left. She was trying to be strong so I wouldn't see that side of her, but I know better than that. When she left I broke down. Gripped and clawed at my hair, cried on the edge of the bed, wondering if I had made the right choice. I big-huge part of me was telling myself I didn't.
My phone buzzes, and I see its a text from Arin.
When you get here I need to show you something.
Oh what fresh hell does he have to subject my eyes to. Last time he said that, I had to watch 12 Days Of Elves... Don't ask.
I finally arrived at the Grump Space. I see everyone in their usual area. Ryan and Matt at the computers, Ross and Barry in the kitchen making coffee, and the only other people here this early is Arin and me. Everyone else usually is a little late. "Thank god you're finally here. You haven't felt your phone buzzing?" I give him a confused look. "Other than you texting me, no. You know I have notifications turned off for my social media. What's going on?" He turns on the computer in front of us. "You should hear this before anything. I promise you, it's important." I roll my eyes. "This better not be some stupid shit, Arin!" I say with a light laugh. He shook his head, and I knew from the look in his eyes that this was in fact important.
Once the computer was fully on, he went to YouTube. Looking up y/n's name, I felt my stomach turn. Did she have a new boyfriend? Was she sick? Did she die?! I understand that last one is a bit of a long shot, but I tend to over think a lot.
A video was uploaded at 7:00 am this morning? "' sleepwalk? ' isn't that an old song?" I say confused. But I'm not all that surprised. She always did love the oldies. He nods his head. "She added her own lyrics and tune to it. And I think you should hear it." I nodded and put on some earphones, pushing play on the video. Her voices comes on, and it feels so amazing to hear her voice again. Even if it is just an intro in a YouTube video.
"Hello everyone. I had this idea for a song at like 3 in the morning. I couldn't sleep, so I made this. I hope you like it..."
The video fades to black and then it shows her at her little office space she has in her room. The music starts up, and at this point I notice her eyes. They're a little red and slightly puffy. She did a good job covering it up, but I've known her since senior year. She can't hide that from me.
She sings softly yet with so much passion and emotion. The lyrics sink in, and I know why Arin wanted to hear this. Its about me. I scroll down to look at the description and comments, and they all say things along the lines of 'I fucken sad now.' 'Wow, Danny really did a number on her' 'DANNY YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS SHIT!' 'This makes me so sad because she literally couldn't sleep thinking about him... Danny get your girl back!' 'Damn that made me tear up... '
After the video ended, I look at my phone. Y/n's face still smiles at me from behind the screen. I didn't want to change it, I couldn't do it. I felt several tears hit my leg, I didn't even realize i was crying. "Hey Dan, are you okay?" Arin puts his hand on my shoulder comfortingly. "No... I'm not at all." I open up Twitter and see thousands of notifications to nsp and game grumps. All of which telling me to see what I just saw. I stood up slowly, feeling a little disappointed in myself. How could I let her walk out of my life so easily...?
Y/n's POV
After I posted the video, I decided I should really try to get some sleep. Especially since thousands of people will blow up my phone later on. Once in bed again, I tried to think of all the possibilities and outcomes of this. It could either go really well, or go really horribly bad. I guess we'll just have to see.
I wake up several hours later to my phone ringing. The sky is still a little bright to I assume it's not that late. 'Suzy <3' shines up at me. I smile, me and her always stayed quite close. "Hello?" I try to run the sleep out of my eyes. "Hey, are feeling okay? I heard your song, and I know it's about Dan. How are you, hun?"
It means a lot that she's not just calling about GET HIM BACK! She just wants to know if I'm okay. "Honestly? I feel so empty. Luckily today is just a lazy day so I don't have to adult today. But still.... I feel lost." I hear her sigh, "I know, y/n. It sucks. But you have me! And I'm way better than Danny!" She says jokingly. "Damn right you are! I'll call you a bit later when I'm more awake, okay?" We say our goodbyes and I sit up more in bed. I take a quick look at my notification bar and just as I expected, its blowin up. 'When will I stop being a pussy?' My thoughts we're interrupted by several rings of my doorbell.
Without looking through the peephole I open the door, only to see a certain curly haired man standing on my doorstep. "Danny? What are you doing here?" His eyes are glazed over and puffy as if he had just finished crying. He looked down. "I.... I heard your song. Was it... Was it about me? I'm sorry, I just need to know. I couldn't focus at all today during work. And on my way home, I just couldn't take it anymore. I have to know." My anxiety goes up a long shot. My eyes looking at everyone but him. "Y/n... I need to know." I slowly nod my head, still avoiding his eyes. "May I come in? I think we should talk.." I scoot to the side to let him in. "I'm sorry if I caused a lot of drama. I just thought... It would be better if I just made it into a song rather than.. Just telling you." I confessed. He grabbed my shoulders. "Don't be sorry, y/n. When we broke up, and you left. I broke down. I couldn't handle the fact that I just let you go.. I'm sorry."
"Then why did you do it? Why wait so fucking long to come to my house?! Why hurt me this bad, leaving me all alone when all I wanted was you! I hated knowing that YOU let me just walk out. And you looked like you... Like you didn't even give a shit..." I couldn't help it. I let all my emotions explode on him. "Why do you think I did?! Y/n, you deserve someone who has the time for you, who will give you all the attention in the world. Someone who will GIVE you the world! I want nothing more than to have you back again, but you don't deserve someone like me! I love with all my soul, hell, I'd give up everything for your dumbass! I didn't say anything till now because I thought you'd be mad, and I thought you'd moved on, hated me even!" He was standing pretty close to me by now. "Well no shit I'd be mad! You think I don't deserve you? Bullshit! You've already given me the world and more! Don't think that I don't understand about your job because I do the same fucking thing!!! I know it's hard, but I was willing to work even harder because I love you more than life itself! I deserve you just like you deserve me!" He rolled his eyes. "You're fucking gorgeous! You can have any man you want! What the hell is so special about me?" I got in his face once again, "because you are so much better than any other man I've met! We've known each other for YEARS and you think I'd just give all that up?! What kinda drugs are you on, Dan? Do you think I'm that fucken dumb? I haven't slept in weeks because it feels so horrible not having you next to me. That's some bullshit to say that I can have any man I want. I want YOU, dipshit!" I couldn't help it, I fell to my knees, shaking from trying to hold back tears. How he say that I didn't deserve him? He was my world, he still is my world. Nothing will change that.
He walks to me, and sits on the floor with me. I feel his arms wrap around me, and I lean into his chest. "I'm sorry.. I loved you more than anything. I still do. Can you please give me another chance..? Now, I won't ever think you don't deserve me. I won't think anything like that. You mean the world to me, y/n. Please don't forget that." I look up at him, seeing his eyes filled with new tears. "Well duh, how can i say no to this face?" I grab his cheeks and smush them together and laugh. "I love you too, Danny." He smiled and leaned in and gave me a much needed kiss.
